Objective: To investigate the expression of Survivin and PTEN in laryngeal carcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods: The expressions of Survivin and PTEN in 100 cases of laryngeal carcinoma were detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship between the expression of Survivin and PTEN was analyzed. Results: The positive rate of PTEN in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma was 41%, the negative rate was 59%. The positive rate of Survivin in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma was 62% and the negative rate was 38%. Compared with non-laryngeal patients with laryngeal mucosa samples, the expression rate of two proteins was statistically significant difference (P <0.05). Moreover, the expressions of PTEN and Survivin were closely related to the degree of tumor progression and proliferation (P <0.05). Conclusion: Survivin and PTEN expression levels can be used as an important index to judge laryngeal cancer, which is of guiding significance for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
