鬼针草中的新天然成分──鬼针聚炔甙（bipinnatpolyacetylenicloside）能明显抑制巴豆油诱发的小鼠耳壳肿胀及蛋清性足肿胀，降低大鼠棉球肉芽肿重量，还能显著抑制小鼠毛细血管通透性和醋酸至炎的大鼠的白细胞游走，其抗炎效果大多与地塞米松组无显著差异甚至有的作用略强，鬼针草中的黄酮混晶也有较好的抗炎作用。
