进入新世纪以来,中国体育事业气象更新。2001年可以毫不夸张地被称为“体育年”,北京申办2008年奥运会成功举世瞩目,全国人民对体育的热情空前高涨,体育工作也得到中央的高度重视和支持。2002年7月22日中共中央、国务院下发了《关于进一步加强和改进新时期体育工作的意见》,8月22-23日第一次以国务院名义召开了全国体育工作会议。这对推动进入新世纪的我国体育事业的发展无疑具有十分重要的“里程碑”意义,是体育事业发展的难得机遇。可以说,我们迎来了体育事业改革发展的春天,必将为搞好新时期体育工作产生强大的推动力。

On July 22, 2002, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving Physical Education in the New Era. August 22-23 held the first national sports work conference in the name of the State Council. This undoubtedly has a very important “milestone” significance for promoting the development of our country’s sports undertaking in the new century and is a rare opportunity for the development of sports. It can be said that we have ushered in the spring reform and development of sports undertakings and will surely have a strong impetus to doing a good job in sports work in the new era.
