According to a report released by the World Trade Organization on 28 March, global trade continued its rapid growth in 1995, with the volume of trade increasing by 8% and the trade volume exceeding 6 trillion U.S. dollars for the first time. Clothing exports in China and Hong Kong registered less than 2% growth while clothing imports in the United States rose 7.5%, far less than the 26% growth in 1994.
