INTRODUCTION Myocardial electromotive force originates from the electrical stimulation of cardiac cells and subsequent recovery. Through the conductive effect of the surrounding tissue, the current spreads throughout the body and produces millivolt-level potential differences on the body surface. The record of these potential differences is the electrocardiogram. It provides clinicians with important information about the condition of the heart. The currents in the human body created by the energization of nerves or muscle cells create a magnetic field around the body that, although extremely weak, can be detected and recorded by modern electronic technology.
