在中华一体的华夏文明格局中,江南文化因受其特殊的自然环境影响,呈现出别具一格的鲜明精神特性。一、“南方之强”江南文化,固然水性十足,有所谓“诗性江南”之说;但正如古代哲人老子所说,水至柔,但也至坚,因为“攻坚强者”莫若水;诗性江南固有其柔美的一面,但更有其坚韧的“南方之强”的品格。何谓“南方之强”?早在二千多年前,孔子就已给出了“宽柔以教,不报无道”的“南方之强”的评论:
