在新产品试制中有许多气动工具有保护罩、排气罩等装置,这些装置一般都是薄壁冲压件。在新产品开发中,因数量不多又要抢时间占领市场,如采用一般工艺加工,从设计、制造模具、再反复试模、多次拉中、冲压成型成本太高,而且周期长。如在车床上完成该过程就方便多了。如我厂研制的S180D型端面气砂轮的保护罩,直径为188mm(如图1示)。以前的研制工艺是,用较大直径的棒料,由料库下料,再由热加工车间锻打成毛坯,热处理回火,最后车、铣、钳加工成型。这种工艺一是周期长,浪费原材料、成本高;二是加工的零件质量差,壁厚不均,重量较重。
