Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, the metallurgical industry in Guangzhou has made remarkable achievements. Guangzhou has now become an important steel base and non-ferrous metal base in Guangdong. However, metallurgical industry is still the main source of economic and social development in Guangzhou both in terms of current and quite a long period in the future
