The Years in Myanmar is a novel that reflects on the rule of the British Empire and reveals the truth of colonialism. The birthmark of the protagonist Florie in the novel is not a function of the critique of colonial discourse, as Terry Eagleton did not erase the criticism of the novel. Although Florist’s birthmark is born, but the connotation of birthmark humiliation is acquired, the narrative of birthmark’s meaning can be seen from the narrative process of colonial discourse on people’s discipline. As a white man Florian was treated as alien because of his birthmarks, and the novel’s narration of the process provided a good analysis of the operational logic of colonial discourse, that is, in the biological sense, different from whites Characteristics of the colored people as the logic of discourse of lower nation.
