The annual growth rate of Shanghai’s GDP is proportional to the annual growth rate of the city’s electricity consumption. The structure of electricity consumption has undergone great changes. The per capita electricity consumption and per capita load have reached a high level. According to the history and present situation of Shanghai electric power market demand, the results of the research on Shanghai electric power demand forecasting from 2006 to 2010 and 2020 are introduced
