本文基于Kress和Van Leeuwen的社会符号学分析方法及韩礼德的功能语法,分析了英文儿童图画故事书Where the wild things are,通过对语篇的分析发现故事情节的发展与故事主人公之间具有紧密的联系,对视觉符号的分析显示了故事的叙述风格。此外,故事图画中主要采取了长镜头,人物以全景的方式呈现了客观性和距离感。故事作者和绘图者合理运用各自的叙述方式,使故事更易于儿童阅读并且吸引其注意力。
Based on Kress and Van Leeuwen’s social semiotics and Halliday’s functional grammar, this article analyzes the story books of English children’s drawings. By analyzing the discourse, we find that there is a close relationship between the development of the story and the hero of the story Contact, analysis of visual symbols shows the narrative style of the story. In addition, the main story taken in the long shot, the characters in a panoramic way presents a sense of objectivity and distance. Storytelling authors and draftsmen make sound use of their narratives to make the story easier for children to read and attract their attention.
