西安市现在的地裂缝,是从1959年开始发现的,现已查明在西安市(包括市属长安县内)共有十条活动强烈的地裂缝(图:西安地裂与构造断裂展布图)。西安在历史上也曾多次发育过地裂缝。凡是地裂缝的出没,都与地壳运动、断裂活动有关。但是现在的地裂缝又与历史上的地裂缝有所不同。为何在市区如此密集达七条之多,目前虽还没有全部掌握形成地裂原因的地下断裂活动规律,但是可以推想这决不是一种成因造成的,而是在断裂活动的基础上,叠加了城市地面不均一沉降的因素,相互关连而促成。地面不均一沉降的裂点同样是受着地壳运动的控制,因此地裂缝都表现了统一的力学性质大致呈北东向和北东东向。既然地裂缝成因是以统一的地质力学作用为主,叠加了地面不均一的沉降的因素,而这两种因素目前均没有停息,并
The current fissure in Xi’an was discovered in 1959.
