This article attempts to explore the Elizabethan British female images from Shakespearean comedies. Written to study Shakespeare’s representative comedy works - A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the Merchant of Venice. Analyzes the image of the heroines Hemia and Bossia in the two comedy works, exposes the duality of “liberating women” in Elizabeth period and the limitations of Shakespeare’s feminist aura. Hoping to profoundly analyze the outstanding women of the time from a different perspective - one with the train of “new women of the times” while the other is struggling with the patriarchal roots.
