动物词汇有着丰富而多样的文化内涵,这些各具特色的内涵都取决于不同的文化。反之,动物词汇可被视作文化的一扇窗口,透过它,文化差异、文化共性、文化内涵和文化多样性都会变得一目了然。通过对动物词汇文化内涵的研究,人们可以对文化间的个性与共性有更深入的了解,从而避免滥用和误读动物词汇的内涵意义,减少文化冲突的发生。本文从文化语言学的角度出发,主要研究中英文化中与“马”相关的词汇意义,藉以揭示中英不同的文化内涵。 Animal vocabulary has a rich and diverse cultural connotation, these distinctive connotation depends on different cultures. Conversely, animal vocabulary can be viewed as a window of culture through which cultural differences, cultural commonality, cultural connotations, and cultural diversity are all at a glance. By studying the cultural connotation of animal vocabulary, people can have a deeper understanding of the individuality and commonalities of the culture, so as to avoid misusing and misreading the meaning of the animal vocabulary and reducing the occurrence of cultural conflicts. From the perspective of cultural linguistics, this paper mainly studies the lexical meanings of “Ma” in both Chinese and English cultures so as to reveal the different cultural connotations between China and Britain.
