By West Germany, Yili and Yugoslavia in 1964, the co-produced widescreen color feature film “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” was adapted from the novel of the same name by the 19th century American writer, Mrs. Stokes. The film depicts the tragic fate of slaves in the Americas and exposes the evils of slavery through the encounters of old slaves Tom and Harris. Lord Tom’s hero, Tom, is a gentle, kind and gentle old slave. He believed Christ, subservience to the squeeze of slave-owners, endured physical suffering, begged for the holiness of souls, and did not resist until finally being slaughtered. Although the novel fugitives through the slaves of Black Slaves show that the slaves can only avoid their own emancipation before they can avert the tragic ending, Tom has the pivotal influence because of making a single written book.
