In the late Qing Dynasty, Wu Zhiying, a scholar in Sichuan Province, was very much praised by scholars in his early years as a ritualist, but his book Rituals and Practices was not valued by the world. This paper initially sorts out the trend of this book, and explores the learning process of Wu’s study of Confucian classics. After a preliminary study, this article argues that Wu Zhiying’s Book of Rituals and Solidations emphasizes the rule of rites and points out the motto of scripture. This solution to the trend, rather with the “ram” note similar to the traditional thinkers. On the one hand, it shows Wu’s specialization in Ritual and Rams. On the other hand, it seems that Wu also used rituals as the ritual belief in the study of other scriptures. This paper argues that although Wu Zhi-ying has an admirable research intention in “Ceremonial Etiquette”, he did indeed write a monograph that shows his unique personal experience; however, perhaps because this book is too brief, it can not be favored by later scholars. This is probably the main reason why this book is a long time ago.
