On the morning of 12 October 1990, when we arrived in Moscow, we had a conversation with Comrade Vasilekiv, director of the newspaper outreach department, in the “Labor News” editorial department. The first topic was the status of the press in both countries. We answered a series of questions from the host, such as “How many newspapers in China?” “How many newspapers did you distribute?” “Where are the main readership?” After we answered, we immediately put forward a series of articles that we were equally interested in problem. “How many newspapers and periodicals are there in the Soviet Union?” “What is the circulation of your newspaper?” “What are the readership of your newspaper?”
