Since the 1970s, career education of American middle school students has changed from vocational education to career education, forming a conscious, comprehensive and systematic concept of lifelong education, embodying the concept of humanism and paying attention to the self-worth of middle school students. The United States carries out curriculum development and design from two aspects: theoretical knowledge of middle school students’ career and practical skills. Through knowledge imparted in the classroom and practical training in extracurricular activities, the United States implements the curriculum with scientific experiments and research methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum. This article systematically points out the career education of American middle school students from two aspects of theory and practice
