最近,在荧光灯电极附近设计了释放水银的装置。排气终了加热流水银释放装置。水银被放出,防止了水银对环境的污染。本方法由于在排气过程中灯管内的水银不滴下来,所以,在排气过程中往丝极上加电压、丝极顶端产生弧光放电时,就能够分解活化丝极的阴极物质。即从灯管的一端送入惰性气体同时从另一端排出,在这一送气、排气过程中,在丝极顶端之间产生弧光放电,使其阴极物质被分解活化。
