Objective To observe the effects of postpartum gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) intervention on blood glucose, blood lipid and inflammatory markers. Methods 100 GDM patients with normal blood glucose or impaired glucose regulation after OGTT 6 weeks postpartum were randomly divided into control group and intervention group. The intervention group used “Meishi management mode” to strengthen the intervention lifestyle for 3 months. OGTT was performed again in the second trimester of postpartum. At the same time, insulin, Hb A1c, lipids and CRP were measured. Two sets of data were compared using t-test or nonparametric test. Results The levels of blood glucose, Hb A1c, insulin resistance (IR), blood lipids and inflammatory indexes in the intervention group were significantly improved over the control group in the two years postpartum. Postpartum IGT, DM incidence was significantly lower than the control group. Conclusions Intensive life style intervention can delay or reduce the development of GDM to DM and improve the lipid profile and inflammatory status.
