我国在建的最大抽水蓄能电站——广州抽水蓄能电站,位于广州市东北方向的从化县吕田区,到广州直线距离约90km。电站第一期装机容量120万kW(4×30万KW),年发电量23亿kw·h。电站上库坝高61.11m,库容1700万m~3,下库坝高38.69m,1750万M~3,最大水头535m。地下厂房深埋地下,使用可逆式水泵水轮机-电动发电机组。工程总投资约14.58亿元。工程由广东省水利电力勘测设计院勘测设计,水电十四工程局施工。
