Changes in the distribution of sympathetic heart can cause Q-T interval prolongation, and easy to cause acute arrhythmia and sudden death, diabetic patients with autonomic neuropathy can occur sudden cardiac death, but the reason is not yet clear. The authors studied 30 patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus without clinical evidence of heart disease. Among them, 20 were women and 10 were males. Their ages ranged from 19 to 53 years (average 33 years). Their duration of illness ranged from 10 to 28 years (mean 17 years). All drugs except insulin were discontinued 24-48 hours before the test. Five noninvasive autonomic neurological tests were used to measure cardiac autonomic neuropathy in patients, including resting pulse, difference between minimum and maximum heart rate per minute, Valsalva’s action, standing heart rate response and standing
