白边地老虎(Euxoa oberthuri Leech)为黑龙江省嫩江、合江、牡丹江及松花江等地区为害甜菜幼苗的重要地下害虫。严重发生年大量幼虫集中为害,甜菜幼苗常常被食光(同时亦为害大豆、玉米、谷子、高梁及蔬菜等幼苗),致使毁种一次或两次,甚至改种其它作物。一般发生年常造成缺苗断垄,被迫补种或移栽。既使不发生年群众为躲过其为害期,疏苗、定苗普遍偏晚,管理拖后,延误了甜菜的生育,结果影响产质量。
