The film “Tarot,” adapted from the original title of Tibetan writer Wan Ma Tacan’s novel of the same name, follows a line of sight of Tallow, a shepherd who has never touched the modern world, about his lost identity in the confrontation between traditional and modern cultures. At the same time, young people of ethnic minorities represented by Tarot are mostly in the state of being suppressed by the new cultural order in the face of this situation, that is, they have shown difficulties in the face of the issue of the status quo identity. I will explain the fictitiousness and truth of the metaphors in this film narrative from the realistic footage of Director Wanma Caidan and the attitude that the film director remodels the national identity of the movie characters in the crisis of ideology.
