The 1977 nutrition education training program (Public Law 95-166) of the United States led to the introduction of nutrition into all curricula at kindergarten to 12-year schools. Most of the curricula developed in the project focus on combining nutrition with other disciplines (such as health, natural sciences, sociology, linguistic arts and mathematics) rather than nutrition as an independent discipline; at the same time, The concept is reinforced in the nutrition curriculum.
