The New England Center focuses on comparative pathology, infectious diseases, psychology and physiology. The center is about 30 miles from Boston and is affiliated with the University of Hawald and hosts more than 1,000 primates, of more than 1000 species, including rhesus monkeys, cynomolgus monkeys, cynomolgus monkeys and squirrel monkeys, with microbiology, pathology, physiology, Cytogenetics and Psychology Lab. Studies of human addiction behavior are often confused by factors such as personality disorders, socio-economic conditions and peer group pressure.
