Objective: To observe the toxic effects of “analgesic tape” on animal skin. METHODS: Twelve New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups with 4 rats in each group. Skin toxicity tests were conducted. Four New Zealand rabbits, male and female, were used for skin irritation test. Thirty healthy guinea pigs were randomly divided into 3 groups. Group 10, that is, group A: “analgesic band” group; guinea pigs sensitized after repeated administration of the skin to observe allergic reactions. And with the B group: positive control group, C: vehicle group were compared skin allergy experiments. RESULTS: The “pain strip” did not cause acute toxicity and irritative reactions to intact and damaged skin in New Zealand rabbits; there was no sensitization on guinea pig intact skin. Conclusion: The “pain strip” is used for clinical safety and non-toxic.
