编辑同志:今收到贵刊今年第三期,翻阅时读到《访英、希散记——历史篇》一文.文中提到雅典城阿柏克尼展览馆内展出的中国古物(从商代铜器到明清磁器),说这批古物是“由一个私人捐献的,这个捐献者也许是一个巨商富贾”.又说“对于它的底细,至今犹有一种出于好奇心的迷惑”(第56页).我曾于1978年4月参观过这个展览馆.我所了解到的情况也许可为本文作者和读者们祛除“迷惑”.原来这位捐献者是我国老一辈考古工作者中许多人都很熟知的乔治·猷摩福波劳斯(George Eumonfopoulos, 1863-1939年),他是希腊人,
