FTP is the most widely used protocol when downloading or uploading files to UNIX systems or Internet hosts. The paper mainly introduces the working principle of FTP protocol, the method of setting up FTP service based on Linux system and the security of service. Finally, it also introduces several excellent FTP utility softwares.
