Objective To investigate the significance of P53 and bcl 2 overexpression in cervical cancer and the relationship between them. Methods The expressions of P53 protein and bcl2 protein in 10 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and 57 cases of cervical cancer were detected by immunohistochemical SP method, and 11 cases of normal cervical squamous epithelium were used as controls. Results The expression of P53 protein in CIN was significantly different from that in control group (P <0.01). The expression of P53 protein in invasive cervical carcinoma was significantly different from that in control group (P <0.01); P53 There was no significant difference in protein expression between CIN and invasive cervical carcinoma (P> 0.05). The expression of P53 protein in grade II and III of invasive cervical carcinoma was significantly higher than that of grade I (P <0. 0) 5). The expression of P53 protein in cervical cancer was significantly higher than that in ulcer (P <0.05). The expression of bcl-2 in CIN was significantly higher than that in control (P <0.05) The expression of bcl-2 in cervical invasive carcinoma was higher than that in normal controls (P <0.01). The expression of bcl-2 protein in cervical carcinoma was not significantly different from that in CIN (P> 0.05). There was a significant positive correlation between P53 protein and bcl-2 overexpression in cervical cancer (P <0.05). Conclusion The overexpression of P53 and bcl 2 is associated with the occurrence and development of cervical cancer
