五楼供甜瓜是一九七七年从肇东县涝州公社搜集来的。由于结瓜集中在垅台上,自然结成供果状,群众称这种瓜叫“五楼供”。这个品种具有以下几个优点:1.熟期早、耐运输。五楼供甜瓜生育期七十三天,单瓜发育二十三至二十七天。我省中部地区一般在五月中旬大地催芽座水直播,七月未开始成熟,八月上旬大量收获。果肉厚3公分,皮质坚韧而不艮,耐运输。
