“趣”作为一个重要的中国美学范畴，具有多种内涵和风貌。所有这些内涵和风貌都离不开它赖以产生的社会文化基础。这一文化基础包括儒家游艺尚文的人生风范、道家逍遥出尘的人格精神、文人清玩的习性与有所痴迷的性情、古代和民间艺术稚拙真率的魅力、明清以来追求世俗生活享乐的现代趋向等几个重要方面。在最后一方面，“趣”这一古典美学范畴实现了与现代美学与艺术的直接接榫。
As an important category of Chinese aesthetics, “Fun” has many kinds of connotation and style. All of these connotation and style are inseparable from the social and cultural foundation it generates. This cultural foundation includes the life style of Confucianism and entertainment, the moral character of Taoist people who escape from the dust, the habits of the literati and the obsession with obsession, the innocence of ancient and folk art, the pursuit of secular life and enjoyment since the Ming and Qing Dynasties Modern trends and several other important aspects. In the last aspect, the classical aesthetics of “Fun” realizes the direct connection with modern aesthetics and art.
