Methyl jasmonate is a natural compound extracted from vegetable oils (especially jasmine oil and honeysuckle oil) and has multiple functions. More recently, U.S. scientists experimentally sprayed methyl jasmonate on the surface of apples before the apple matured to unify and deepen the red color of the apples.
