在中国的古代,金属材料的使用十分普遍。白描画法始于吴道子白画,成于李公麟白描。至于金粉白描,虽还没有找到明确的古文献记载,却也是古已有之——至少是明代吴彬的金描《五百罗汉图》,至今流传于世。由于材料的黏稠度,金粉白描的运笔不如墨笔白描那样灵活自如,因此掌握其技法需要长时间的探索和实践。但金粉白描具有墨笔白描所不具备的艺术特色:如果说墨笔白描朴素单纯而具有一种纯净优雅的美感,那么金粉白描则因其华美灼灼、溢彩流光的金属材料特质,而具有单纯优雅中兼备雍容富贵的艺术魅力。白描花卉作为中国画重要的一种视觉形态,包含色彩、构图、用笔等视觉因素,不光是描绘了客观景象,更重要的是抒发了主观情感。花中玉兰,高贵却不张扬,自古就被诗人所喜爱,更有诗句称赞其:“绰约新妆玉有辉,素娥千队雪成围”。我也喜爱玉兰的飘逸不浮、风韵独特,故选择折枝玉兰为创作题材,以四张单幅画组成玉兰系列,均是在磁青色半生熟宣纸上运用金粉白描的形式表现。其画面上明与暗的对比、金色跳跃与磁青沉稳的对比,更加能衬托出玉兰的清丽高贵,再加以金书小楷题诗与印章增强形式美感,丰富画面内涵,这样的创作实践研究只是我探索艺术风格中刚刚迈出的第一步。
