根据最近出版的资料，概括了１９４９年以来我国地震灾害的全貌及其随时间、空间和震级的分布情况，并把这一时期的灾情与地震活动情况作了对比。结果表明，这一时期我国共发生造成灾情的地震事件４７７次，导致２７８万人死亡，民房毁坏约１１００万间，直接经济损失超过４２０亿元。各地灾情的对比（东西部之间、各省区之间等等）表明，我国灾情和震情的空间分布既有联系又存在明显差别，例如，震情呈现西强东弱的特点，灾情则是东强西弱。这种情况是我国防震减灾工作战略部署中应当充分考虑的重要因素。
According to the recently published data, the whole picture of the earthquake disaster in our country since 1949 and its distribution with time, space and magnitude are summarized. The disasters in this period are compared with the earthquake activity. The results show that during this period, a total of 477 earthquakes caused the disaster in our country, resulting in 278,000 deaths, destruction of about 11 million houses and direct economic losses of more than 42 billion yuan. The comparison of the disasters (between east and west, among provinces, etc.) shows that the spatial distribution of disasters and earthquakes in our country are both inter-related and obviously different. For example, the earthquake situation is characterized by strong weakness in the west and weak in the east, while the disasters are East strong and weak west. This situation is an important factor that should be fully considered in the strategic deployment of earthquake relief and disaster reduction in our country.
