The size of the underground terracotta warriors and horses, who guard the tomb of the First Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the history of China 2200 years ago, closely resembles those of the modern army, which have the lowest height requirements. This requirement of minimum height deviates the normal distribution of soldiers’ height, as is Terra Cotta Warriors. Assuming that the ancient Chinese soldiers were recruited from a normal-height population and that their standard deviations are the same as modern ones, the Chinese’s height was estimated at between 162 and 171 centimeters over 2,000 years ago.
