Purpose The State of New York must conduct effective supervision and inspection of 400 institutions providing blood transfusion services to ensure the safety of recipients. The plan consists of supervision and inspection including education and training of staff, establishment of blood transfusion expert committees, rules and regulations for laboratories and blood banks, familiarity with experiments, requirements for blood transfusion-related errors and accident reports, follow-up, examination, and verification of all blood collection laboratory tests. FDA cooperation and accident report investigation. Written policies and guidelines (such as umbilical cord blood, blood transfusion-related infectious diseases, intraoperative blood transfusions) complement the rules and regulations. Observation Through education methods, supervision and inspection ensure the normal use of standards. Strict regulatory application areas or supplementary education guidelines should be determined by regular practice standards assessment and review of material reports. Conclusion This variety of surveillance and inspection programs can effectively improve the level of transfusion medicine.
