Japan Institute of Bioinformatics Intelligence developed a device that uses the near-infrared light of organisms to directly detect singlet oxygen. The leukocyte enzyme, the myeloperoxidase, was extracted and reacted under physiological conditions to directly detect very weak near-infrared light with a wavelength of 1.3 μm, confirming the occurrence of singlet oxygen. This time the development of the detection device is made of two semiconductor detectors differential charge reserve, the successful detection of weak light when the most problematic background removed. This semiconductor detector is a kind of InGaAs and InP semiconductor photosensitive element miniature components
