联合国亚太经济会亚洲近海矿产资源联合勘测协调委员会(简称CCOP)第四纪地质学家范德明(E.A.Van De Meese)和克鲁斯(G.A.M.Kruse)应地质部第四纪地质中心筹委会的邀请,于二月廿日至二月廿八日来我国进行短期访问.E.A.范德明一行此次访华的主要目的是为了与我方商谈落实在青岛共同举办沉积学和实验技术培训班等有关事宜.E.A.范德明等二月廿二日抵达青岛,在青期间听取了青岛海洋地质研究所的科研工作、青岛地区区域地质培训班准备情况的介绍,还参观了该所的实验室,并对我方为培训班所选择的胶南县隐珠等三个实习点,进行了实地踏勘,详细的观察了海岸地貌,河海交汇,河曲,海蚀洞等地质、地貌现象.二月廿五日,双方就如何共同办好培训班等有关问题进行了友好交谈.专家对青岛海洋地质所为培训班所做的一切准备工作表示满意,对在青岛办好培训班深信不疑.E.A.范德明一行已于二月廿八日离京去曼谷.
Quaternary geologists EAVan De Meese and GAM Kruse at the invitation of the Preparatory Committee of the Quaternary Geological Center of the Department of Geology at the UN Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Coordination Committee for Coastal Mineral Resources Survey of Asia (CCOP) , Came to China for a short visit from February 20 to February 28.
