自得其志自成其乐功盈艺苑立心于民立极于琴教盖中华2003年年末,星海音乐学院为65岁的李自立教授隆重举办了“李自立小提琴作品音乐会暨研讨会”。纪念册上印有老院长、原广东省音协主席赵宋光的一段话:半个世纪以来,李自立在小提琴艺术领域里发自对小提琴教育事业和小提琴中国教材建设的高度责任感,孜孜不倦地辛勤耕耘,自觉肩负起了演奏、教学、创作三方面的历史使命。今天,他已经不仅是卓越的小提琴演奏家、小提琴教育家,而且是丰产的小提琴作曲家。老院长的评价令李自立激动不已、热泪盈眶。更令他感动的是他的几十名学生同台演奏了他的作品,而且当年他在中南音专附中的40多位老同学也从天南海北赶到广州参加了这一盛会。这是对李自立从艺54年、从教30年、从事音乐创作45年历程的一次检阅、展示和纪念。国内外音乐界知名人士吴祖强、李凌、郑石生、盛中国、俞丽拿、何东等也纷纷发来贺电、贺信。
