Known as the classic American postmodern “Slaughterhouse Five” with its distinctive fragmentation and non-linear narrative aroused continuous academic hot. This paper argues that it is not enough to pay due attention to the transposing narrative technique of Vonnegut’s successful bond fragments and the unique concept of time and space that the author conveyed in the non-linear narrative. In fact, this unique space-time narrative precisely fills the gap between language and trauma, presenting readers with a traumatic narrative of great experience. In this paper, I analyze the 1) non-linear space-time narrative, 2) space time shift, and 3) psychological traumatic traumatic meaning, trying to outline Vonnegut’s unique time-space narrative and his knitting Imagery and insight into the traumatic world described by this master of art.
