In the middle of the 19th century, China and Japan were forcibly dragged into the process of modernization by the barracks of Western powers at almost the same time. Under the banner of “building a solid West”, the Qing Government started the Westernization Movement in the fields of technology, military affairs and education. Japan rapidly entered the door of modern industrial civilization through the Meiji Reform. In a certain sense, the Sino-Japanese War broke out in 1894 is a test of the effectiveness of modernization between China and Japan. To interpret and interpret the Sino-Japanese War in the perspective of modernization between China and Japan will not only prompt students to reflect deeply on the process and impact of the war, but also find a breakthrough in the teaching of the current history of the High School’s history of invasion of China .
