First, focus on explaining Magnets attract iron, cobalt, nickel and other substances called magnetic. An object that has magnetism is called a magnet. The most magnetic part of a magnet is called a magnetic pole. Any magnet, regardless of its shape or size, has a pair of indivisible magnetic poles at its two ends, called North (N) and South (S), respectively. There is no magnet with only a single magnetic pole or more than two magnetic poles in nature. The magnetic poles on the magnet always appear in pairs. If a magnet is divided into two, then each separated magnet will still have two magnetic poles; if two magnets are attracted to each other, the two will be one, the whole still two magnetic poles, rather than four magnetic poles.
