古建筑再生是近年来台湾建筑设计的一个重要方向。无论是日治时期建筑、原住民建筑还是战争时期建筑都保留得较为完好,再加上台湾的人文坏境友好,重视情怀与历史等因素,使得古建筑再生设计有良好的环境。但由于修复经费不菲、施工技艺的失传、传统材料难复原等原因,古建筑再生也面临着巨大的挑战。采取再利用模式对古建筑进行活化保存,是在国际文物古迹保护实践中日益普遍的策略。这需要产权所有者、地方政府、学者专家共同主导实施,还包括后续的维护及营运管理等相关工作。台湾地区经过多年的摸索
Regeneration of ancient buildings in Taiwan in recent years, an important direction of architectural design.
