1949年5月27日晨,随着杨树浦守敌的投降,上海市区宣告解放。第二天,国民党最后一任上海市代理市长赵祖康和中共上海市长陈毅,在市长办公室举行了市政府的移交接管,中共执政的上海市人民政府挂牌成立。赵祖康被陈毅市长任命为上海市工务局局长。
On the morning of May 27, 1949, with the surrender of Yangshupu defending the enemy, Shanghai was declared liberated. The next day, the last acting mayor of the KMT, Zhao Zukang, acting mayor of Shanghai, and Chen Yi, the mayor of Shanghai, held a transfer of the municipal government in the mayor’s office. The Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the ruling party of the CPC, was founded. Zhao Zukang was appointed by the mayor of Chen Yi Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Works Secretary.
