NASA recently selected 10 university-sponsored, pioneering, innovative space technology proposals to increase space radiation protection capabilities and enhance spacecraft thermal control and optical system performance. The study time for each technology is expected to be one year, with about $ 250,000 in funding. Each innovative technology requirement significantly surpasses existing capabilities to meet NASA’s future scientific and human exploration mission. Advanced technology, low maturity conceptual technology, can gradually mature and develop products and solve the difficulties and challenges facing NASA’s mission in the future. These selected technology proposals represent technologies that the National Research Council (NRC) identifies as meeting the needs of high-priority technologies identified in its NASA Space Technology Roadmap and Priorities: Rebuilding Technical Advantage of NASA and Grounds for a New Space for the Planet.
