英语名词词组在句中除了充当主语或宾语等成分外,还要担任各种语义角色,如受事者等等。小说家往往有意识地利用某种角色结构的选择,建立对世界的某种特别看法。所以分析文学作品的角色结构常常能够帮助读者理解故事或者人物眼中的世界。M.A.K.Halliday及其他语言学者对一些小说的角色结构的分析令人信服地表明:语言概念功能(即认知功能或意义)本身也存在有文体意义,而这个问题过去常常为人们所忽略。
English noun phrases in the sentence except as a subject or object and other ingredients, but also for a variety of semantic roles, such as the recipient and so on. Novelists tend to consciously make use of the choice of a structure of characters to establish a particular view of the world. Therefore, analyzing the role structure of literary works can often help readers to understand the world in the eyes of the story or the characters. An analysis of the role structures of some novels by M.A.K. Halliday and other linguists has convincingly demonstrated that the conceptual function of the language (ie cognitive function or meaning) is itself stylistic and has historically been overlooked.
