在“莫言热”的背景下改编的电视剧《红高粱》从电视剧的评判标准来看是一部比较成功的电视剧,但是它明显是不“忠于原著”的。电视剧在改编过程中将小说的原有叙事主线进行了替换,将原有的男性叙事视角换成了女性叙事视角,将小说的原有主角余占鳌替换成了九儿,这种替换将小说原有的民间抗战主题变成了传奇女性的成长史。电视剧对小说的改造,从某种程度上说是受电视剧的视听媒体特性影响的,但更重要的是编剧为了迎合大众消费文化而做出的主动选择。
