为了提高抛丸清理设备的使用寿命,应根据抛丸设备各种易损件的具体工作条件来正确选择其材质。抛丸器叶片的使用寿命与弹丸的含砂量、抛丸量及抛射速度等有关,其中弹丸中含砂量多少的影响最为显著。为此选择合适的丸砂分离系统,以保证将混入弹丸中的砂粒排除干净是十分必要的。对用于中大型铸件清砂的抛丸清理设备,几乎都应进行抛射图的设计。设计抛射图主要根据所需清理铸件的结构、抛丸时铸件运动情况及抛丸器射流的方向来进行,这是保证使铸件内外表面能被迅速清理干净的基础。
