光动力学疗法治癌正受到医学科学界的关注。此法用光和光敏药物的相互作用引起生物破坏,从而杀死恶性肿癌,而这无论光或药物单独使用都无法实现。牛津激光公司设计并制造了用于此法的铜蒸气/染料激光系统。临床光动力疗法包括给病人注射适量的光敏药物,该药物只集中在恶性肿瘤上,正常组织很少吸收。一旦受到光照射,药物即起光化反应,释放单态氧,从而杀死肿瘤。这种疗法相对来讲对病人无痛苦也无副作用,必要时,可多次重复,对恶性细胞的再发情况即属此例。光动力学疗法的必备条件光动力学疗法必须具备三个基本条件。第一,必须设计一种能尽量以肿瘤为目标且有适当光化反应特性——即能吸收某一特定波长的光,并与之发生光化反应的药物,使组织坏死。
